That’s A Hundred Scones Too Many

I’m a bit worried about Leng. I know she’s upset about John, but she’s been baking nonstop. I mean NONSTOP. The woman has made 12o scones since yesterday, not counting the ones that Hui Min scarfed down! This scone mania is more than a little disturbing.

I think an intervention is needed. Besides, what will she do with all those scones? :(  Hui Min may have the metabolism of a hummingbird, but I have to work hard to keep the flab at bay! I’m not going to stuff myself with buttery scones just because she’s decided to deal with her emotions by baking compulsively…

In other news, I am highly annoyed that the Yeah Yeah Yeahs are not coming to Singapore anytime soon. :(

Asparagus And Bacon: A Perfect Match

I wonder if I should reconsider my stance on Norman. He’s a nice guy, and goodness knows those are few and far between.  And he’s definitely easy on the eyes, as well. It’s just… well, how often do you meet a guy who’s cute and isn’t a jerk? He’s the opposite of a jerk. An anti-jerk, hahaha.  Maybe I was too hasty in dismissing him because of the age gap…

In other news, I have found an adorable Spanish restaurant that does rollitos de espárragos y beicon (asparagus and bacon rolls) that are to die for. It’s worth the extra hours at the gym!

It’s The Little Things That Matter

I’m so jealous of Norman’s fridge magnet collection. I can safely say that this is the first time in my life that I’ve ever met anyone with a collection to rival my own. What are the chances that he’s a collector as well? If that’s not serendipity, I don’t know what is!

He’s so sweet. He offered to help me get this adorable on/off fridge magnet the next time he’s in the US.

I would order it online, but the blogshop that sells it doesn’t ship to Singapore. Oh well. A personal delivery is better, isn’t it? ;)

That’s What I Call ‘Hot’ Yoga!

My, my. Our yoga instructor really gives ‘hot yoga’ a whole new meaning. Hee hee. I normally pay the utmost attention in any class, whether it’s cuisine, business administration, or yoga, but the instructor was just too cute for words. I barely managed to listen to what he was saying; his smile is so distracting!

He looks Spanish, but his accent doesn’t sound Spanish. Curious.  Even Leng was drooling, and I know she barely notices men… well, apart from John.

I can’t wait for next week’s session! :D

What’s On The Outside Counts Too

Wow, that fight between John and Leng nearly did the whole wedding in. That’s really scary. To trust yourself with someone else so completely. Somehow, I don’t think I’m ready for it yet. But will I ever be? Maybe marriage is not for me. Oh, but Norman was so sweet the other day, when he came over to show me photo locations at Sentosa, and ask me if I want to be his recce model. Of course! More pictures for my portfolio. Plus some eye candy to look at too. And then he saw my huge refrigerator, that is so necessary for work and also for entertaining clients at my dinner parties, and he went MAD, I tell you, MAD over my fridge magnets! The dear boy also has a weakness (or is it a fetish? Hmmmm) for fridge magnets, and he collects them too! He offered to show me his, and maybe I will take him up on that.

I Need Some Uber-Coffee Right Now!

Discovered Sugarcult today when I was looking for new music to listen to while balancing the restaurant’s accounts.

Sugarcult

I quite like their video for ‘She’s The Blade’.

Goodness knows I need some new tunes to keep me mellow. After the initial excitement of the new dessert menu, I’m totally burned out. Our dégustation event with the journalists went really well, but it was an 18-hour day – phew! I love my job, but sometimes, it really drains the life out of me.

Maybe I should talk Leng into joining that new hot yoga class with me…
